In news unrelated to monkey clones, last night’s super blue blood moon or the adorable ‘shower rat’ (sorry to burst your soap bubble, but it’s a Peruvian pacarana), we’ve got big news of our own! Our first major AtlasEvent will take place on Tuesday 13 March.
We’re excited to announce that ‘Fixing the future: Adventures in a better tomorrow’ will see a supergroup of nine changemakers, sustainability gurus, authors and renewable dynamos take to the CCCB stage in the home of the Atlas – Barcelona. Expect stories of people doing things very differently. Whether you use an online calendar or still go analogue like our retro-futuristic Editor, put the date in your diaries. Full line up to be revealed next week.
We’ve always been big fans of the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (pron: “cececebe”). The multidisciplinary space hosts awesome exhibitions, festivals, films and workshops – and now the Atlas.
Within its bright walls we’ve marvelled at the international World Press Photo exhibition and as Naomi Klein broke down capitalism and climate change. We’ve listened in awe as PJ Harvey read her poems for the first time in Spain and as German writer Werner Herzog referenced his films. We’ve compared pranks with legendary activists The Yes Men and Joey Skaggs – and lost ourself to dance to Daft Punk live. In other words, the CCCB rocks.
This event is in association with Ara and the support of our friends at Time Out BCN and Alma Hotels.
AtlasOffer ► Tickets cost 75€ and include entrance to the After the End of the World exhibition. Book before 1 March for the Early Bird price of 40€.
