“Storytelling is the most powerful tool that we can give to kids.”
Based in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Cineastas del Futuro (Future Filmmakers) is an international filmmaking school and digital platform for kids that gives them the opportunity to tell their stories through audiovisual media, connecting through film, creativity and innovation.
Giving children the tools to tell their own stories isn’t just a transformative tool for them, it’s also powerful for adults to learn to see the world through their eyes.
Cineastas del Futuro is run by Buenos Aires-born Sebastian Chuffer. The filmmaker, photographer and educator’s photographs have been published in books in India, the United States and France, and were exhibited in Paris and Buenos Aires. He was chosen in 2016 as a fellow of the Salzburg Global Seminar for Young Cultural Innovators.
“Storytelling is the most powerful tool that we can give to kids; we live in stories, we tell stories every time we interact with each other, we tell stories when we are alone in our minds, even in our dreams when we sleep.”
The team has also launched Creatorsflix, the first digital platform for content created entirely by children and adolescents from around the world; a place where they can share their productions, learn from video tutorials made by and for kids, and from interviews with famous filmmakers and storytellers.
