Communication between nations is essential in our ever globalised world and scientific advances in one country will benefit everybody if they are accurately communicated. French, German and other languages are super important in this field but, undeniably, English is also extremely useful, some would say essential. In addition to the importance of English for communication, the benefits of plurilingualism are shown to improve a child's cognitive abilities and mental flexibility. CLIL is not about creating a lingua franca but about opening doors and sensitising children to different cultures as well as maximising their confidence and creating a future full of opportunities. Learning about STEM subjects (STEAM with the inclusion of art) as well as learning a language are fun, motivational and inclusive.
