Designing a Sustainable Future
(Pending editorial review)
Polska (Warszawa)
The project's main idea is to democratize access to the future design by both counseling small enterprises and educating about maker's culture. This is divided into three main activities: We help tech enterprises at the early stage of their development to enter the market. We focus especially on the ones that concern sustainability, as in the example of one of our partners, that develops an environment for reduction of electronic waste in India (including a production line for recycling). We also host regular lectures and workshops with the purpose of educating about contemporary environmental and social changes and ways we can harness technological inventions to overcome some of the most pressing issues, like climate change. Some of our events are dedicated to children and include prototyping sessions during which the kids learn to design practical solutions for given problems. We are currently in the process of expanding this into a full-fledged project promoting maker's culture called Young Makers. We also work with the existing companies. We design, research, and help implement solutions based on new technologies, sustainability. Our main partner at the moment is a Polish company Braintech that develops Brain-Computer Interfaces that allow disabled people to communicate with the world.
